3 Simple Tips to Make Gaming Healthier

We spend most of our days sitting at our desks — we work, study, and rest while sitting. Needless to say, your desk makes a huge impact on your health. If you feel the effects of prolonged computer use, don’t despair. Simple changes in your PC setup can be enough to help alleviate unpleasant symptoms such as sore neck and wrist pain. In this article, we are going to share some tips on how to make your gaming and work experience more comfortable.

1.       Adjust your chair

One of the easiest, yet overlooked ways to make gaming more comfortable is adjusting your chair. Make sure that your knees are bent at a 90-degree angle and your feet stand flat on the floor. Also, check if your neck is relaxed and you look straight at your monitor. It’s great if you can also adjust the back of your chair. Try to make the angle between your back and knees as close to 90 degrees as possible. Sit back too much, and your lower back will soon let you know that you sit incorrectly.

2. Size up your mouse pad

Keeping your wrist suspended in the air for prolonged periods of time may contribute to repetitive strain injuries or RSIs. To avoid this, we recommend getting a mouse pad big enough to let you control your mouse by directing your arm from the elbow and shoulder instead of wrist movements.

3. Get a desk fan

Every gamer knows the frustration of gaming on a hot day. Sweaty palms and face don’t add to the gaming experience, so we recommend getting a small desk fan that can help you cool down both physically and psychologically. To cool your palms and fingers even more effectively, get a fan with fabric blades — feeling pieces of fabric touch against your fingers is surprisingly relaxing.
